Breaking Taps - AIS Collaboration - Ionic Liquid Ion Source ELectrospray Thruster Emitter Array

Breaking Taps

Ionic Liquid Electrospray Emitter Machining

Breaking Taps is an extraordinary DIY material science and machining effort devoted to advanced sciences by a dedicated maker. Breaking Taps has joined forces with AIS in the spirit of collaboration and DIY science to manufacture advanced CNC machined ionic liquid ion source (ILIS) electrospray thruster emitters for the development of electrospray thrusters for Cubesats and PocketQubes, taking on a traditionally multi-million dollar development in the home lab to provide competitive, low-cost electrospray for nanosatellites at a fraction of the cost of current systems on the market.

AIS VAT Series Vacuum Arc Thrusters

Quantic Evans Capacitor

IEPC 2022 Boston

Quantic Evans Capacitor manufactures some of the most advanced, high energy-density wet tantalum capacitors on the market for critical aerospace, industry, and military applications. AIS has selected Evans Capacitors as the key energy storage technology for its AIS-VAT Series thrusters. In partnership with Evans, AIS will be collaborating at IEPC 2022 Boston with the full line of AIS-VAT Series on display at the Evans booth. In addition, AIS will be raffling the first three AIS-VAT0-DEMO Educational EP Learning Kits to promote accessibility and educational resources for electric propulsion for students.
